Itinerary
Day 1: Fes – Merzouga
Depart from Fes early in the morning for a scenic drive towards Merzouga, located on the edge of the Sahara Desert. As you journey south, you’ll traverse the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing through charming towns like Ifrane and Azrou. Enjoy the lush cedar forests and possibly spot Barbary macaques. Continue through the picturesque Ziz Valley, known for its extensive palm groves and traditional Berber villages. Arrive in Merzouga in the late afternoon and check into your accommodation. The evening is free to relax and take in the views of the nearby dunes. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner at your hotel or riad, preparing for the desert adventure ahead.
Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Dunes – Desert Camp
After breakfast, set out for a day of exploration in the Merzouga area. Start with a guided visit to the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes, the highest sand dunes in Morocco, which stretch over 20 miles. Experience a thrilling camel trek across the golden sands, taking in the vast, tranquil desert landscape. The trek will lead you to a traditional Berber camp nestled in the dunes. Day 4: Fes Airport
